I can’t speak to that, because I never lived in SF, but what I have experienced is that I feel like I can’t stand being on the same floor of a house as people who are just living off their backs. Not only is that not an enjoyable way to live, it’s also not a very productive way to live. I’m sure it sucks for a lot of people, but for me it’s a pretty crappy way to live.
