The village malt shoppe is a local pub with an impressive selection of whiskies. This week, we tried a bourbon barrel aged whisky to complement the barrel-aged vodka.
But then we were told we’d need to order some tipples. We did, and a few hours later, our waiter arrived with a tray of glasses filled with the aforementioned bourbon barrel aged whisky. To be honest, I thought it was pretty good, but the whisky was pretty much just a little bit too sweet for me. Still, I’m glad we tried it.
It’s definitely one of the better things about this week’s episode. We got to try a barrel aged whisky and the tipples, and we got to try some more of the beers that are part of the menu. The whiskey may have been a little too sweet in the first place, but we really enjoyed the rest of the menu’s offerings.
Im a big fan of all of the beers, and that’s kind of the idea behind this episode. We decided to make a list of the top 10 beers that are on the menu, and the list included such well known beers as the Redbreast, the Anchor, the Black Sheep, the Hazy IPA, the Red Hand, and the Black Horse. The list was pretty diverse and kept us from getting bored with the beers.
We decided to include both a craft beer and a lager menu. The beer menu consisted of the following five beers, and the lager menu consisted of the following four beers. The two beers each had a different flavour profile, and we liked the fact that they were all pretty different beers.
The beers were listed in order of increasing alcohol content, and we found that the Hazy IPA, Red Hand, and Black Horse beers were the most alcoholic, with the Hazy IPA being the most alcoholic. Also, the Red Hand, Black Horse, and Redbreast beers were all very well hopped, with the Redbreast being the most hopped. The Black Horse was the least hopped.

And here’s where I think I have to point out that I can’t actually remember what the Red Hand, Black Horse, and Redbreast beers were in their entirety (if you’re wondering, “what are those three beers called?”), but I think I can safely say that the Redhand is the most hopped. The Redhand has a very high alcohol content, and it’s pretty unique in that it’s a beer that uses the Red Hand as the primary hops.
Hops are a type of vegetative yeast, and they are the primary source of flavor in beer. They are also what give beer its bitterness. I’m not sure exactly what makes the Red Hand unique, but it was the first beer I had in the U.S. that was brewed in a brewery that used only the black-hued yeast, and it was so good that I had to have it again.
